Photographs as Infographics

Back in June I discussed the possibilities of using photographs as infographics and mentioned the work of Jose Duarte on Flickr, with a little imagination this method of creating infographics can produce powerful and informative images.

Peter Orntoft is a Graphic Designer, he has created some wonderful infographics using photographs. One of Peter’s images is shown below in which he visualises whether or not Danes think its ethical to wear religious symbols in public professions. Peter’s work  along with others is featured in a new book called Visual Storytelling: Inspiring a New Visual Language you can also see more of Peter’s work on his website

Although this work has been created with a designers eye, the use of photographs as infographics doesn’t have to be as polished so long as the information you are trying to communicate is clear.
